HCSO Newsletter #48 | Protecting Our Communities
Message from Sheriff Ed Gonzalez:

On Monday, we will be celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Let’s remember Dr. King’s work, words and sacrifice as we reflect on his legacy. His words and actions inspire all of us to continue to strive for equality and a better world for everyone.

Our third Harris County Sheriff’s Office core value — protecting our residents and communities with honor and courage — is an agency-wide effort that reflects the diverse array of detentions and law enforcement units that we staff to tackle crime. In this week’s round-up, you’ll see various units fighting the many forms of crime.

District 1 patrol deputies, with the assistance of law enforcement partners, arrested and took an alleged 6-man robbery crew off the streets this week. District 3 deputies, as part of a multi-agency task force, did their part in tackling crime in their part of the county with an arrest and seizure of a handgun and illegal narcotics. I commend all of our patrol deputies, spanning five districts in the county, for their commitment to protecting the communities they serve.

It was an honor to host the Taiwanese Central Police University cadets as they toured our innovative jail. I’m proud to say that our detentions staff is the reason we have visitors from around the world that marvel at our efficiency, professionalism, and standards while maintaining our jails. See the scenes from their visit below.

Thank you to all of my teammates for another week of representing the Pride of Texas , and for protecting and serving your communities with honor and courage. God bless you, and God bless the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
