Dear Middle School Parents,

Today, Sr. Guste sent a communication to Upper School families stating that effective Monday, January 11, the Upper School will pivot to an online learning model of learning for two weeks. This is a cautionary measure to ensure that all students and faculty are able to continue learning while we move through this period of community spread which is affecting our oldest learners on the Rosary Campus. With the facilities, mitigation measures and current limited number of exposures and cases, Middle School is still able to offer in person learning, and we will not be moving to an off-campus or hybrid model at this time.

One of the criteria of Goal 4 is that “the School promotes a safe and welcoming environment in which each person is valued, cared for and respected.” As community members, we all have a part in stopping the spread of COVID-19, and our ultimate goal is always to provide in-person learning. Data from the Louisiana Department of Health indicates that exposures are coming from outside of schools, so we are sending this letter to ask for your continued support so we can safely operate on campus.

What wise choices (Goal 5) should your family make to help our ASH community?
  • Monitor your children for any signs or symptoms of illness.
  • Contact Nurse Mindy Louviere if you or a family member have a possible exposure or test positive for COVID-19.
  • Continue to wear masks in all public areas outside of the home.
  • Limit multi-family transportation and after school sport carpools.
  • Limit spending the night out. Please do not have sleepovers with multiple students.
  • Limit group activities, parties and gatherings to your immediate family members.

Questions you may be asking:
  • Will ASH be offering after school MASH on the Rosary Campus? Yes, we will continue to offer aftercare at this time.
  • Will Middle School continue offering after school sports? Yes, we will continue to offer after school sports, but are discouraging carpools to and from games and practices. We understand that at times it is necessary; but if it can be limited over the next two weeks, please do so.
  • May my high school babysitter still pick up my daughter? We are aware that there are some high school students throughout the city who are asymptomatic yet positive for COVID-19 or quarantined. Please work with the family and the student to determine if it is an option for you. If your high school babysitter or driver tests positive, and your daughter has had close contact, she will be quarantined for the full ten day period.
  • How do I contact Nurse Mindy Louviere? You may reach her at [email protected] or 269-1254 (Rosary Office)

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
