Dear Preschool and Lower School Parents,

Today, Sr. Guste sent a communication to Upper School families stating that effective Monday, January 11th, the Upper School will pivot to an online learning model of teaching for two weeks. This is a cautionary measure to ensure that all students and faculty are able to continue learning while we move through this period of community spread which is affecting our oldest learners on the Rosary Campus. With the facilities, mitigation measures and current limited number of exposures and cases in our division, we are still able to offer in person learning in Preschool and Lower School, and we will not be moving to an off-campus or hybrid model at this time. Therefore, all of our regular programs will continue running, including PLUS.

As I have shared before, we are grateful to have students and faculty on campus and engaging in in-person learning. Therefore, please continue to adhere to the following in order to take care of our Preschool and Lower School community.

  • Contact Nurse Mindy at [email protected] if you or a family member have a possible exposure or test positive for COVID-19.
  • Limit multi-family transportation and after school carpools.
  • Limit group activities, parties and gatherings to your immediate family members.
  • Limit spending the night out. Please do not have sleepovers with multiple students.
  • Consider testing if you think you or a family member has been exposed.
  • Consider testing if you are traveling or if you have been with groups other than your immediate family.
  • Monitor your children for any signs or symptoms of illness.
  • Continue to wear masks and distance in all public areas outside of the home.

Finally, I am aware that several of our Preschool and Lower School families depend on Upper School students for babysitting. Because there are high school students throughout the city that are asymptomatic yet positive for COVID-19or quarantined, we ask that you work with the family and the student to determine your best option. If your high school babysitter or driver tests positive and your daughter has had close contact, she will be quarantined for the full ten day period.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Sincerely,

Shara Hammet
Preschool and Lower School Division Head
