We are Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, and we work to improve the health, safety, education, economic well-being, and development of Rhode Island's children — with a core focus on equity. For more than 25 years, we have been the clearinghouse of data and information on the status of Rhode Island’s children and youth. With you, we have worked for better laws and policies, wise investments that improve outcomes, and strong services for children and families.
We believe that every child deserves an equitable opportunity to succeed. Concretely, this means a safe place to call home, access to comprehensive health care, high-quality affordable child care, and an excellent education -- as well as love, respect, and the promise of tomorrow. With 28,000 Rhode Island children living in poverty and unacceptably wide and persistent disparities, there is much more work to do, and we need your support.
Now more than ever, we are committed to partnering with youth, families, communities, and community organizations to dismantle structural racism and advocate for the antiracist policies needed to improve outcomes for Rhode Island’s children and families -- and close unacceptable disparities by race, ethnicity, immigration status, disability, zip code, neighborhood, and income.
Rhode Island KIDS COUNT is pleased to join United Way of Rhode Island's third annual statewide day of giving on April 1st called 401Gives. On this day and throughout the year, we ask for your support for our work to achieve equitable outcomes for Rhode Island's children: www.401gives.org/organizations/rhode-island-kids-count
Thank you!
