Submit Comments on Proposed SNAP Rule

Just months after Congress reauthorized the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) without changes to work requirements, the U.S. Department of Agriculture proposed changes to a rule that will take away food assistance from the communities that need them most through harsh changes to SNAP.

The proposed rule would restrict states’ ability to waive SNAP time limits for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs). By USDA’s own estimates, the proposal would eliminate SNAP benefits for 755,000 Americans and cut SNAP by $15 billion over 10 years.

The USDA is seeking public input on the proposal through April 2, 2019. Make your voice heard by taking just a few minutes to submit your opposition to this proposal. ( Download a sample letter here .)
