Dear Providence,

I am thrilled to invite you to the inaugural Providence Day & Back to School Celebration on Saturday, October 5th from 11 am to 3 pm at George C. Marshall High School (7731 Leesburg Pike).

This community event, co-hosted by Chair & Providence District School Board Member Frisch, Celebrate Fairfax, Neighborhood and Community Services, and myself, will highlight local organizations and businesses while fostering stronger connections among residents and community leaders. This FREE, family-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity to meet your neighbors, connect with local organizations, and prepare for a successful school year. I hope you can come celebrate with your friends, family, and community!

While Marshall High School is easily accessible by car, bus, or bike, shuttle services will run from the Jim Scott Community Center (3001 Vaden Drive) and the James Lee Community Center (2855 Annandale Road).

We can't wait to see you there! RSVP TODAY!

I am excited to announce the call for nominations for community spotlight awards to recognize the outstanding contributions of volunteers in our Providence community! We are accepting nominations for individuals aged 18+ for the Oak of Providence Award and nominations of students for the Redbud of Providence Award who have made a significant impact through their dedication, hard work, and passion for serving others.

How do I submit my nomination? Please submit a 150-word paragraph introducing your nominee and include their contact information, which award you are nominating them for, and how they have positively contributed to the Providence community through their leadership, work, and advocacy by Friday, September 13th to Providence@fairfaxcounty.gov.
