DCBDD Updates
DSP Workforce and Provider Communication Survey
Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities is conducting a provider survey in order to gain a better understanding of the DSP workforce and communication needs of our provider community. Please consider completing this short survey before August 20, 2021.
OISP Launch Date
DCBDD is targeting a launch date of September 1 to begin utilizing the new Ohio Individual Support Plan created by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. This statewide plan will eventually be utilized by all Ohio counties to simplify and enhance the planning process throughout the state. More information will be coming soon.

DSP Appreciation Week - September 12-18, 2021
DCBDD will be honoring DSPs throughout the week of September 12th! As a part of this week, DCBDD wishes to recognize the many DSPs providing support in Delaware county. Please help us ensure you and/or your DSP staff are thanked by completing this brief survey by August 20, 2021.

Additionally, Delaware County Commissioners will be issuing a proclamation of recognition for this week of appreciation during their September 13th session.

DODD Updates
New Rule-Required Training Now Available in MyLearning
DODD has added training courses required by the new certification rule to the MyLearning section of dodd.ohio.gov.

DODD Call Center Update Allows Provider to Check Payment Status
Providers can call the call center 24 hours a day to check your payment status. You will need your DODD contract number and the last four digits of your social security number or EIN/TIN.

Overcoming Compassion Fatigue with Self-Care for the Helping Professional
August 12, 2021

Focusing on compassion fatigue, burnout, and self-care, this presentation focuses on personal and professional wellness. It discusses both compassion fatigue and burnout and helps attendees assess their own levels for each. We will also discuss the impacts that compassion fatigue and burnout can have on a person’s short and long-term health and career longevity as well as the ways it can be harmful on an organization-wide level. Further, we will discuss examples of things organizations can do to promote self-care among their employees. Click here to register.

Community Employment Grants Available
The Capabilities Charitable Fund is offering one-time grants of up to $500 to people with developmental disabilities ages 14 and up who are pursuing community employment. The grants will be administered by 19 Services, Inc., which is now accepting applications. Download the Grant Application here. Completed applications should be emailed to [email protected].

Project Lifesaver
The Project Lifesaver program is a small personal transmitter, worn around the wrist or ankle, that emits an individualized tracking signal. If an enrolled client goes missing, the caregiver notifies the Delaware County Sheriff's Office, and a trained emergency team responds to the wanderer's area. Have questions?

Adaptive Yoga7 - Yoga for EVERYbody - Livestream (Level 1) Description
This class is designed for persons with limited mobility or challenged balance and can be practiced from a seated position in a chair, on a mat or standing. The class focuses on upper body strengthening, seated cardio, trunk stability, strengthening the mind body connection, spinal mobility and functional movement.
 
EVERY body is welcome to this class. Designed by a wheelchair user and graduate of Seven Studios Yoga Teacher Training program - this class welcomes all levels of participants.
 
IF YOU USE A MOBILITY AID/DEVICE, IT IS ENCOURAGED TO BRING IT TO THIS CLASS.
