Let's Get Away, Together! — Every Tuesday through February 24. Join us for the last two sessions of this popular virtual travel series as we explore the amazing world of hats and venture into caves! Full info and registration here.

Caregiving 101 — February 18. Offers a general overview of what it means to be a family caregiver and how caregiving impacts one's overall health and well-being. Participants will also learn about respite, caregiver stress and ways to find additional help. Full info and registration here. FCA in the Community: Impact of Alzheimer's in Our Community — February 18. FCA joins the Alzheimer's Association and West Valley-Mission Community College District for this community event sharing the latest in Alzheimer's and dementia research, local community resources and a panel discussion on ways to build a brain healthy lifestyle. Dementia 101 — February 25. Provides a basic understanding of dementia and how it affects an individual, as well as tips for caregivers on how to cope with these changes. Full info and registration here.

Film Screening and Q&A: Caregiver: A Love Story — February 25. This film tells the tale of one man struggling to care for his dying wife. When 59-year-old Bambi decides to forgo further treatment for her cancer and die at home, her husband Rick leaves his job to become her primary caregiver—a role for which he has no experience and little support. Join the director and FCA staff for a Q&A following the screening. Full info and registration here.

Scams Targeting Older and Dependent Adults — February 26. Participants will learn about scams targeting older and dependent adults and come away with tips on how to avoid becoming a victim. They'll also gain understanding on elder and dependent adult abuse and learn a multidisciplinary approach to helping victims of neglect and/or crime. Full info and registration here.

CAREgiving — 3 sessions: March 11, 18 and 25. This course is designed as three two-hour-long sessions focused on mindful caregiving. Weekly sessions are conducted live via Zoom and include a combination of instructional teaching, guided meditations, small group activities, and open conversation. A computer or tablet with a functional camera and microphone are necessary. Full info and registration here: session 1, session 2, session 3.

California Legislation Strengthens Caregiver Support of those Living with Dementia | | New California legislation ensures people with dementia have access to friends and family caregivers. Starting in January 2026, people with disabilities and/or cognitive impairment can have a friend or family caregiver stay with them as needed throughout the duration of their hospital visit.
