Good morning,

This edition of the Provider E-News Update is packed with new resources, classes and not-to-miss events—including a September 18 virtual summit on innovations in caregiver services (scroll for more info). Read on for more, but also please note the following news and opportunities:

  • If your organization offers an innovative caregiver program, service or intervention, consider submitting it for inclusion in the Caregiver Services Supports Innovations Hub, an online clearinghouse of supports and services in the Aging Network.

  • The San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS) needs the input of San Francisco caregivers to improve services for older adults, adults with disabilities, veterans, and caregivers. Please pass this survey along (10-minute survey due by September 30).

  • We're still in wildfire season in Northern California. Bookmark this one-pager, offering numerous resources for family caregivers, including watch-on-demand webinars, disaster alert signups, county-based reference sheets, preparedness guides and more.

Thanks for all you do!

Warmly,

Family Caregiver Alliance

Smart Caregiving Series Addresses Long-Distance Caregiving

The latest installment in our Smart Caregiving Series addresses a question from a caregiver who finds themselves in a common situation: caregiving across distance. This caregiver asks: "I just visited my parents back home. They seemed slower and more forgetful. They’re very independent but I’m worried. What can I do for them now?”

This practical resource provides resources and guidance that address the unique challenges that long-distance caregivers face.
