Independent Provider Overtime Rule Now in Effect
As of February 1, the new Independent Provider Overtime rule (5123:2-9-03) is in effect. The rule requires independent providers to notify the Service and Support Administrator (SSA) of all hours worked with all individuals, including those in other counties and with other Medicaid-funded services. 

This rule also requires authorization by the SSA for any hours worked over 60 hours a week. Therefore, SSAs will be asking questions to determine what can be authorized. Please note that any hours worked over 60 hours a week because of an emergency situation must be reported by email to the SSA within 72 hours of when the services were provided.

2018 MUI Reminders
Here are few reminders and dates for 2018:

  • Providers' annual MUI reports are due to the state by February 28, 2018. 
  
  • Providers need to submit their semi-annual report to the state by August 31, 2018.

  • Remember, provider names will be randomly pulled by the MCBDD Investigative Agent throughout the year and asked to submit a quarterly report.

DSPOhio Offers Staffing Resources
DSPOhio is the first statewide job-site specifically designed for recruiting and hiring Direct Service Professionals for Ohio’s developmental disabilities system.

DSPOhio is looking for interested providers to start uploading their agency information and hiring needs into the website. The first year provider subscription is free .
The New Provider Services Management Portal is Active
The Provider Certification Wizard is now called Provider Services Management (PSM).The Ohio Department of DD has put together some quick tips and tools to help you use the newly replatformed system. Learn about starting a new provider application, uploading information, withdrawing certification, and more through YouTube videos and other documents.
Making Lives Better Campaign
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities' Making Lives Better campaign focuses on improving the health of people with DD by decreasing unscheduled hospitalizations and reducing preventable illness. This initiative offers the advice of subject matter experts and training tools to support best practices to improve health outcomes.
