ELC Sunshine Scholars - All Summer Applications are Due March 9, 2024 by 4 pm

Description: Voucher payments dispersed to participating centers & family childcare homes to cover the cost of educational enrichment programming during Spring Break and Summer Break to prevent learning loss and alleviate costs for parents.

Due to the remarkable funding opportunities developed by the Coalition team, there has been an overwhelming response to these initiatives, resulting in a high number of applications. While we have always aimed to respond to inquiries within 24 hours, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding as our team's response time now exceeds this timeframe.

Become A Summer VPK Provider

If you are interested in providing Summer VPK, please see the information below:

• The VPK Summer Program is comprised of 300 Instructional Hours
• Can begin as early as May 1, 2024, and must finish in August before the HCPS School Year Calendar Begins
• Lead Teacher requirements are different than School Year VPK

Popcorn and Profile

2024 - 2025 Appointment Only

The ELCHC staff is offering assistance to providers who need help creating their 24-25 Provider Profile. ELCHC staff will be offering in-person and virtual assistance. 

Please see the dates below to sign up. When emailing your contract specialist to register for the event, please include whether you are requesting in-person (at the ELCHC office located at 6302 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd. Suite 100 Tampa, FL 33619) or virtual.  

If you attend one of our sessions, you will be entered into a raffle to win a PRIZE!!

Early Learning Vision Screening

Providers, here is a great resource to share with your families! 

Lions World Vision is offering free screenings for children in Hillsborough County early learning centers. See the attached flyer for more information.

Provider Support Sessions

We are offering virtual support sessions to Providers who will be submitting ELC Sunshine Scholars Summer Applications. Please submit your response requesting support no later than March 1, 2024.

Family Engagement Training

A variety of training opportunities are being offered to parents, guardians, and caretakers in Hillsborough County. Resources and Stipends available for training completion.

Hot Docs Training 

The ELCHC is Partnering with USF Hot Docs to offer training for caregivers and professionals to learn how to manage children’s behaviors using a positive parenting approach. There will be several cohorts where you can sign up. Each cohort type will have a different stipend amount attached for completion of the training. 

• One 3-hour training on June 24, 2024, at ELCHC - Stipend amount: $200.00  (First 20 registered only) 

• Six-week program (All 6 sessions must be attended in order to receive stipends. First 15 registered per date only) - Stipend amount: $300.00
