“I wish I’d known about your organization earlier.” We hear this from our family caregiver clients almost every day. But the ones we hear it from the most, by far, are those who are caring for a family member living with dementia.

More than 6 million adults in the US are living with Alzheimer's disease, the most common type of dementia, and there are approximately 11.2 million family caregivers providing care to them and those with other forms of dementia.

When those caregivers contact with us for support and services, we’re able to help them right away with targeted information, guidance and assistance unique to their situation. That’s because in our 40+ years serving family caregivers, we’ve become experts in helping those who are providing care to someone living with a cognitive impairment, such as:

  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Stroke
  • Other types of dementia.

If you have clients or patients are facing this difficult situation, please let them know that we offer free help and resources.

And be sure to pass on our comprehensive fact sheet, Caring for Adults with Cognitive and Memory Impairment. It covers challenging dementia behaviors, respite and resources, and provides 10 steps for them to educate themselves and develop a plan. Available in English and Spanish, this fact sheet is one of our most popular resources.

We wish you a happy New Year, full of health and wellness for you, your patients and your larger community!

Thank you,

Family Caregiver Alliance
