Holy Family Shelter
In July, Holy Family Shelter welcomed a wonderful group of volunteers from Alive in You. Alive in You is a 5-day camp that focuses on faith and service for high school youth. Alive in You is hosted at different locations throughout the United States each summer and we were blessed that Holy Family Shelter was one of the locations this year. They did so much work around the shelter both inside and outside helping with landscaping, organizing clothing donations and more. They were such a blessing to our homeless families!

There are big things coming for Holy Family Shelter in the near future. Click Here to watch the trailer for our upcoming documentary, Invisible Families!

Christmas Store
The Christmas Store will open this year on December 1 to assist struggling families who might otherwise not have a Christmas. Volunteers will use information submitted by our community partners to carefully select gifts. Families will come to the Christmas Store at an assigned date and time to pick up their gifts. Last year, we were able to provide Christmas for 925 struggling families. This year, 85 community organizations are partnering with us to serve a goal of 950 families-that’s over 4,000 people!

The Christmas Store held an open house for volunteers and supporters on October 6. Guests enjoyed Christmas treats, toured the newly organized space and learned how we will help families in need this Christmas season.

Senior Companion Program
Senior Companion volunteers provide the gift of friendship to older homebound adults through regularly scheduled home visits. Companions assist in preventing feelings of loneliness and social isolation while improving self-esteem and encouraging aging in place.

The Senior Companion Program (SCP) is sponsored by Catholic Charities Indianapolis which assures that Senior Companions are carefully screened, and receive pre-service, as well as on-going training and support. Senior Companions are placed with community organizations serving older adults to assist in their support. AmeriCorps Seniors provides major federal funds and administers the SCP. More companions are always needed. Click here to learn more about the Senior Companion Program.
Crisis Office
The Crisis Office is grateful for our partnership with Roncalli High School dating back to 1994. On September 16, Assistant Director, Simata Wilcox (pictured third from right) received a check from the Roncalli family for $5,000 during an all school assembly with 1,064 students. These funds were generated from the RHS annual food drive. Thank you, Royals! For more information on the Crisis Office, visit www.archindy.org/crisisoffice

The Impact of Endowment Funds
All endowment funds for Archdiocesan parishes, schools and ministries are invested and managed by the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF). The total value of the more than 550 CCF endowment funds was more than $200 million in the last fiscal year.

Donors often ask why they should invest in an endowment fund when they want their gift to have an immediate impact. Endowments help ensure the future financial health of our Archdiocesan organizations. Endowments invested in CCF grow at a faster pace due to the combined investing power of the more than $200 million in assets.

As these funds grow, they not only provide a future income stream, but the annual distributions from endowments allow our entities to receive important operating funds today. In our last fiscal year, CCF endowments distributed more than $9 million to entities throughout the Archdiocese with more than half that amount benefitting parishes, schools and ministries.

To learn more about making a gift to an existing endowment or establishing a new one for Catholic Charities, please contact us at ccf@archindy.org or call
