A blessing for today.
May you see the beauty of your being,
May you hear the poetry of your soul,
May you know the symphony of your laughter,
May you taste the joy of being loved,
May you love the grace of belovedness,
May you walk the peace of certain hope,
May you dance the faith of vanquished fear,
May you fall into the embrace of the Divine,
May you glimpse the face of God.
May you embrace this day as if all eternity dwelt in you,
May you live the embodiment of God’s unfenced love deep within your being.
You are beautiful. You are beloved. You are God’s own forever. Amen.

Fresh and imaginative ways for kids to pray using all of their senses.
Prayer does not have to involve silence, sitting still, and solemnity. It can be active and engaging, especially essential for kids, who often enjoy movement and creativity. In an easy-to-use format with illustrations, the author connects scripture and biblical characters to dynamic prayer practices such as wrestling, singing, breathing, and dancing.
“The ideas invite children to bring wonder, creativity, and play to the practice of prayer. I’ll be recommending this book to every parent, Christian educator, and pastor I know.”
—Traci Smith, author of Little Prayers for Everyday Life

Christmas at Sea
Bring your donations to the BPG!
|
|
Besides hats & neck gear, Christmas at Sea handwork patterns include socks & sweater vests. These special gifts are always very welcome by the seafarers! Imagine coming in from a long, cold shift in the icy wind, and pulling on a pair of hand knit wool slippers! It would warm both one’s feet and soul.
The pattern for Nola’s Slippers may be found here.
Their knit vest pattern may be found here.
(Sorry, these are all knit patterns; there are no crochet equivalent patterns for these items.)
Once your donations are done, please include a gift tag. Matching sets, like a hat & cowl, only need one tag as they will be sent together. The gift tags may be downloaded here in PDF format, or we’ll have tags available for you to fill out at the BPG in April. CAS prefers that tags include the first name & last initial, and the state where the handworker lives, i.e. Beth H, Indiana.

A bishop-elect talks about Coaching
|
|
Coaching helps me to prioritize and plan for what is most important. Somewhere along the way I learned that rather than to “prioritize my schedule” what I really need to do is to “schedule my priorities.” Think about that for a second. It’s a great shift, and makes a great sound bite. But scheduling my priorities is actually pretty hard to do by myself. Unlike my mentor, and unlike my spiritual director, my coach asks the questions that help me to articulate what’s most important as I look ahead. I then hear the questions that help me to put first things first. Coaching leads me to make a concrete plan to implement my priorities. In addition to all the other kinds of leadership support we receive, Coaching is one of those vital relationship for leaders.
- The Rev. Matthew Cowden, bishop-elect, West Virginia

We are here to support you!
Coaches are available to ALL leaders – clergy and lay. You can be coached individually, create a group of people, or bring a team together for creating shared goals and plans. Any of them will offer an introductory session so you can together discern if you are a good fit. If you work in a rural area, you might qualify for free coaching. Find out more and explore coaching with a trained leadership coach!
For information on LCP Coach training or to discuss Coaching by one of the LCP Trained Coaches, visit this website or contact Province V Coordinator Heather Barta at [email protected] or (989) 413-3229.

Networking Conversations
Province V's work in the world is to "Connect. Network. Support." Networks exist for people to gather around areas of interest and share resources with each other. Sometimes, networks host webinars to share information and sometimes they develop new resources to support leaders in their local contexts.
There are a number of networks meeting regularly and several that are just getting organized. Most network meetings last about 60 minutes. See their webpages or email their contact for more information.
For a full list of Networks and other Affiliated Organizations, visit the Province V website.
