Provision has been participating in Ministry of Environment and Climate Change consultations on the proposed draft Resource Recovery and Waste Reduction Strategy. This strategy is in support of impending new waste reduction legislation. Legislation that is likely to impact many of Provision's member companies by significantly changing the Blue Box Program. Timing for new Legislation is unknown, though it may be tabled between now and Spring, 2016.

On October 14, Provision attended a multi-stakeholder consultation with MOECC Assistant Deputy Minister Robert Fleming. The MOECC heard that more specific goals including economic goals must be stated in order to move forward. As the next step, the ADM committed to revising the presentation and have further consultation. Provision will continue to keep members informed. View the presentation.
