Provost Update

Team,

For personal reasons, Provost Valerie Martin Conley has decided to step down as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and will be leaving Idaho State University at the end of this month. During her time as Provost, Dr. Conley demonstrated her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and built strong relationships with faculty and the faculty senate. Her efforts to help us with a data-informed academic focus in decision-making at ISU, as well as to support operational opportunities for the academic and research community, also led to the launch of a Presidential Project Charter to develop an Academic and Research Plan. The Academic and Research Plan will help to prioritize resources to achieve and support the priorities of ISU’s Strategic Plan, including the budget model and program prioritization.

Valerie asked me to express how grateful she is for her time with the ISU community and that she looks forward to continuing to support the mission of higher education in the future. She wanted to thank the colleagues with whom she has had the pleasure to work regularly as Provost. I want to add to that my appreciation for Dr. Conley’s work as Provost and her commitment to the well-being and success of the faculty, staff and students of ISU. I know we all wish her the best.
