BE GRATEFUL THAT GOD IS FAITHFUL
Lamentations 3:22-23
22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

We have become greatly dependent on the internet; businesses, schools, and even churches are relying on the internet more than they ever have. It’s nice when the internet is working at top speeds, but we all know that you can’t always depend on the internet.

Electricity is wonderful and we would have a hard time trying to function without it. When there is an outage caused by a storm or accident, we’re very frustrated. Electricity isn’t 100% reliable.

The same goes for many other things including people. We often hear the comment: “Never expect anything from anyone because they will only let you down." That’s a sad thing to say but it’s probably truer than we’d like to admit.

“NEVER” is a harsh word but if you’ve been disappointed enough times it can cause you to be that cynical.
But what might be said about things and people can never be said about God!

We should be grateful that God is faithful!

God can be trusted, and He can be depended upon.

Numbers 23:19
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Hebrews 6:18 a
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie.

You can count on God in every situation you face.

• Friends will fail, but God is faithful!
• Family will fail, but God is faithful!
• Funds will fail, but God is faithful!
• Feelings will fail, but God is faithful!
• Faith will fail, but God is faithful!

In 1923, Thomas O. Chisholm wrote a grand old hymn that became one of the greatest hymns of all time.

“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”

Jeremiah was overwhelmed with grief and sorrow at the desolation of the city; everything he had known was gone and he was heartbroken. But Jeremiah never lost sight of God and that kept him going.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

That’s what sustains us when everything is falling apart. Regardless of all the stress, health problems, and finances that have you in a vice. God's steadfast love for you will never, ever end! Every day, He has a fresh supply of mercy. There is a dawn that is coming after the night and joy that’s coming in the morning.

We should be grateful that God is faithful!
SENIOR TRIP
Our seniors enjoyed their trip to Kannapolis for the annual WNC Senior Adult Gathering & Talent Competition. They got to enjoy the singing of the Looney Brothers and the preaching of Bishop John Childers. Our very own Jean Mellen entered a beautiful quilt in the talent competition displaying her wonderful gift and talent for quilting. They also enjoyed a wonderful meal and great fellowship. A big thank you to everyone who went representing our church and Kevin Cooper for driving the church bus.
MCOG ANNUAL "PINK SUNDAY"
"Pink Sunday" is a time when houses of worship come together to bring awareness and education regarding breast cancer health. Many members of our congregation showed up in their Sunday best, sporting the color pink. Wearing pink showed a spirit of solidarity and support for those fighting breast cancer, those who survive, and just to bring awareness. We continue to pray for those who have fought and who continue to fight this great battle.
A MERRY HEART
LADIES' WEEKEND
Our annual Ladies' Weekend was extra special this year beginning with a wonderful brunch, it was such a delicious meal and fellowship. Pauline Blake, our resident Jamaican, delivered an on-time word and the Ladies were greatly blessed and encouraged. Sunday morning we enjoyed the ministry of Micki Thurman, what a testimony she has and what a blessing she was to the entire church. Sunday evening, we were blessed again by a drama that was written by our 1st Lady, Gayle Jacobs Brackett, reminding us how important it is to be ready: "Please don't be the one left behind!"
FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL
Our annual family fall festival was definitely festive! We had a wonderful time of food, fun, & fellowship. Thanks to Ed & Beth Baker, along with the youth board for putting together a fantastic event. Ed & Beth worked tirelessly putting everything together and getting the games in place and setting up the food. Kevin & Christiana Cooper went above and beyond with food and decorations. Kevin cooked the barbecue and made the slaw. Livian Hunt made slaw as well as candy apples. Sonia Solis & her daughter Isabella, did face painting, Dylan Hunt drove the hay wagon, Matt Temple provided the music, Hailey Rollins & Alex Baker were the photographers.
