Psychological Aspects of Pandemics

Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Pilavian graduated from University of Oslo/Norway in 1992, with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. He completed his fellowship at the University Hospital in Oslo, Department of Neurology and Psychosomatic Disorders, in 1993. He completed his specialty in Clinical Neuropsychology in 1997. He completed two research projects: 1) Allocation of Attentional Resources in Patients with Parkinson’s disease (Pilavian, C., 1992) and 2) Organic Amnesia following Herpes Simplex Encephalitis (Pilavian, C., 1997). In 2005, he earned a second doctorate degree (Psy.D.) from the California Graduate Institute. Dr. Pilavian is currently employed by County of Los Angeles in the position of a Clinical Psychologist, with main responsibility in conducting neuropsychological Fitness-for-Duty evaluations of safety sensitive positions of County employees. He has also a part-time private practice in Glendale, providing second opinion evaluations to applicants of California Police Agencies. Additionally, he provides neuropsychological evaluations of attention-deficit disorders, memory dysfunctions, dementias, neurological progressive disorders, and traumatic brain injuries.
