2020 Annual Meeting
Presenter Guides & Submission Deadlines for Recorded Presentations

The 2020 Annual Meeting is a short two months away! If you are presenting at the meeting, please remember that all talks and poster presentations must be prerecorded and submitted by the appropriate deadline. To assist in preparing your presentation, the Psychonomic Society has provided the following resources:

Submission Deadlines for Recorded Presentations

In an effort to increase accessibility, it is the Society's aim to caption as many recordings as possible. Submission deadlines for your recorded talks and poster presentations have been set to allow the Society time to caption your recording for you, or to allow you to provide your own captions.

October 16 or October 28

All recorded poster presentations submitted by October 16 will be machine captioned by the Psychonomic Society. If you would like more time to prepare your presentation, you may submit by October 28, but you will be asked to caption your own recording. Click here for instructions on how to prepare, record, and caption your presentation.

October 23 or November 2

All recorded talks submitted by October 23 will be human captioned by the Psychonomic Society. If you would like more time to prepare your talk, you may submit by November 2, but you will be asked to caption your own recording. Click here for instructions on how to prepare, record, and caption your talk.

Want to remember faces better? Here's a tip, according to new research: Describe the face. Counter to findings that describing the face diminishes memory for that face (i.e., 'the overshadowing effect'), more recent results suggest otherwise. Read the article.

By Ullrich K. H. Ecker, Stephan Lewandowsky & Matthew Chadwick

Beliefs in false claims are stubborn against corrections. There is some concern that by the very virtue of repeating, the misinformation will strengthen the memory. Recent research suggests that this is not the case and that corrections can include the false claims. Read the article.

By Andrew Clement, Alexandra Moffat & Jay Pratt
Do numbers and space share a common representation? The answer is: yes, at a particular level. According to new research, they share representation at the response level, but not at the attention level. Read the article.

Authors in our journals can share their content easily and legally through Springer’s SharedIt program.
