Organizational Sessions are held every four years after statewide elections are held. During this time, state legislators vote on House and Senate leadership, rules, and committee assignments.

The State Legislature will convene for its 2023 Regular Session on March 7th. Now that the Organizational Session has ended, bills can be prefiled for the 2023 Regular Session.
The Governor may call a special session before March to determine how the remaining ARPA funds will be distributed.

Alabama's 3rd U.S. Congressional District Representative, Mike Rogers, will serve as Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee in the 118th Congress.
  • Rep. Rogers will be the first U.S. Representative from Alabama to chair this essential committee. As the Armed Services Committee Chair, Representative Rogers can help ensure that Alabama and the 3rd Congressional District maintain their critical role in supporting our national security.
The Public Affairs Committee's purpose is to represent and be a proactive voice for the members and the overall business community at the local, state, and federal levels in order to sustain and improve a positive business climate. We achieve this through regular interaction with county and state legislators, staying aware of current and upcoming legislation, and keeping our members updated on issues that could impact their businesses or communities.

The Public Affairs Committee will meet the second Wednesday of every month at 8:00 AM in the Chamber Boardroom.
