The Town's Walking Man Sculpture is nearly complete.
Mayor Tim Haak's Monthly Update

Spring is here and you will see a lot of changes around Town, from new flower planters and flags on the light poles on Main Street to active public art projects.

Zionsville artist Cynthia Young is nearly finished painting the Town's Walking Man Sculpture, located on the Town Hall public plaza next to the Big-4 Rail Trail. Walking Man was donated to the Town and other local municipalities by the Community Foundation of Boone County. Cynthia worked with the Town to create a map of Zionsville parks and trails on Walking Man's torso (a great resource as you find yourself on the Big-4 Rail Trail!). She completed the sculpture by hand painting local wildflowers.

As many of you have seen and shared your positive comments, the Lincoln mural on the building located at 98 Main Street is nearly complete. See below for more information.

We have also partnered with ZCD for the annual Sidewalk Poetry Contest. Earlier this year, two winning poems were stamped at the corner of Ash and 3rd streets and two other winning poems were stamped at the corner of Cedar and 1st Streets. We look forward to having this contest again.

Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting public art in the future, including the painting of traffic control boxes around town.

Thanks for your time,

Tim Haak
