Early Voting is located around the back of the Fremont Township building.


Mail-In Ballots

Completed mail-in ballots may be placed in the ballot drop box at Fremont Township during Early Voting hours only. Election Judges will be present during those hours.

Register Online to Vote

The registration period for the online voter registration system will close at 11:59 PM on 10/18/2026 and will reopen on 11/05/2026.

Open Burning Restrictions in Unincorporated Lake County

Allowed Under Ordinance

  • Recreational wood-burning fires that are no larger than 3’ x 3’ x 3’ if used for warming, cooking, and other recreational purposes


Prohibited at All Times Under Ordinance

  • Burning garbage, refuse, or construction materials (note that this has been prohibited for many years)
  • Burning non-woody yard waste, such as leaves and grass


Restricted Under Ordinance

  • Burning woody yard waste is permitted annually between Nov. 1 – March 31. Woody yard waste generally consists of sticks, branches and tree limbs

Medicare Open Enrollment runs from October 15 through December 7. We are sad to tell you our SHIP Counselor Chris has retired. Luckily the Center for Independent Living in Mundelein has 4 SHIP Counselors and is happy to take our Fremont Township referrals. They are scheduling appointments now. They are located at 377 N Seymour Ave, and can be reached at 847 (847) 949-4440.

Recycle Bedding, Shoes, Flags and Eyeglasses in our Shed

Recycling Drop-Off Available

You can recycle the following items in the shed located in our front parking lot:

  • Bedding and pet items (leashes, collars, toys, pet food, etc.) for dogs
  • Shoes
  • Yarn
  • American flags (for proper retirement)
  • Eyeglasses and hearing aids
