Public Nominations Now Being Accepted to
Fill Vacancy on Boise School Board
Boise, ID -- (10/05/2020) -- Beginning Monday, October 5, 2020, the Boise School Board will accept public candidate nominations to fill a vacancy on the Board.
 
The process to fill this vacancy will be as follows:
 
  • Applications will be available beginning Monday, October 5, 2020 on the Boise School District's 2020 Board of Trustees Appointment website or in the Clerk of the Board's Office at 8169 W. Victory Road, Boise. 
  • An application must be returned and signed by the applicant in person to the Clerk of the Board no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 23, 2020. The form must be complete. Applications received will be posted Monday, October 26, 2020 on the 2020 Board of Trustee Appointment website.  
  • Applicant questions should be directed to the Clerk of the Board (854-4123 or [email protected]). Answers will be provided in a timely manner. 
  • A candidate application packet has been posted online, including the roles & responsibilities of a Trustee.
  • A Trustee Appointment Committee consisting of Board Vice President Maria Greeley and Trustee Dennis Doan and members of the District Administration will guide the public process to appoint a new Trustee.
  • From October 23 through November 6, all applications received will be reviewed by the Boise School Board for its consideration.
  • On November 9, during its regularly scheduled monthe Boise School Board is scheduled to appoint a new trustee to fill the vacancy.
 
The vacancy was created by the recent resignation of Dr. Troy Rohn.
 
Qualifications of Trustees
To be eligible to serve as a Trustee an individual must be at least 18 years of age, an elector and resident of the Boise School District, and have no direct or indirect interest in District contracts. Before entering upon his/her duties, he/she shall take and subscribe an oath faithfully to perform the duties of his/her trust according to law; and no Trustee shall have any pecuniary interest, either directly or indirectly, in any contract with said District, or in any supplies furnished to or for said District, nor shall any Trustee be surety for the performance of any contract with the said Board or District, or the agent or partner of any contractor with said Board or District, and no action shall be maintained or recovery had against said Board or District upon any contract or obligation in which any Trustee is so interested, but the same shall be void.
