World Immunization Week

World Immunization Week provides the opportunity to highlight the importance of vaccines in saving lives and preventing the spread of disease. A new study by the Commonwealth Fund estimates that COVID-19 vaccination efforts in the U.S. prevented over 2 million deaths and 17 million hospitalizations from December 12, 2020 to March 21, 2022. The study also showed the impact of COVID-19 vaccination on costs, estimating that nearly $900 billion in associated healthcare costs were averted during this same time period.
