Quote from Lisa A. Bartlett’s Supervisor, 5th District Newsletter dated January 26, 2018:
“Of all our accomplishments, I am particularly proud of the Public Private Partnership (P3) model we invested in for the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization project. After 20 years of discussions, debates and regulatory challenges, the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization plan is underway through a P3 model that allows us to leverage private sector expertise, create jobs, spur commercial retail growth and reduce our use of public funding – all while creating a celebrated gateway to the entire Orange County region.”
Comments from Lisa Bartlett in the November 15, 2018 edition of The Log:
Bartlett wants the general public to know this project will be “no public debt” and that the financial risk, because the public sector will be taking on the costs of the revitalization, will be low. She also mentioned that because of this contract and though it seems like there will still be many years ahead to complete the revitalization, it would come together “quicker and better” as a P3 (as opposed to the county being solely responsible for the project).
Quote from Lisa A. Bartlett’s Supervisor, 5th District Newsletter dated November 22, 2019:
“Through P3 projects, the County has had great success in revitalizing and developing our communities, such as the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Project and the Laguna Niguel Town Center Project (both in my district) in a way that provides a community benefit while creating a long-term revenue stream for the County.”
