Norman Malone was a budding piano virtuoso. At age 10 after a devastating attack, he became partially paralyzed on the right side. Refusing to give up his passion, he found a teacher at DePaul University School of Music and learned to play some of the most complex piano music ever composed using only his left hand. Yet, the beloved choral instructor at Lincoln Park High School kept his talent hidden for decades. His story is the subject of "For the Left Hand," the acclaimed documentary by Kartemquin Films.
