Carjacking Task Force
Property Tax Exemption Assistance
Free Museum Days
Dear Neighbors,

Yesterday, I joined Mayor Emmanuel, Chicago Police Department Superintendent Eddie Johnson to formally announce the creation of the new Carjacking Task Force and the addition of 10 new police officers to the 18th District.

Superintendent Johnson highlighted the role of increased juvenile involvement in car-jackings and criticized gang leaders who recruit
juveniles, stating that the task force would be investigating means to reduce adult use of juveniles to commit crimes.

And over the weekend, more proof that crime must have consequences.  A teen quickly becomes a repeat offender within days. Teenage boy charged with attempted carjacking of retired cop arrested again | Chicago Sun-Times

Please join in making our communities safer:
  • Become a court advocate - send the message that crime will not be tolerated.  The next meeting is tomorrow, February 6 at 3:00 p.m. at the 18th District Police Station, 1160 N. Larrabee
  • Post "Neighborhood Watch" Signs - we have them in our office
  • Turn on your porch light and leave it on at night
  • If you see suspicious people loitering in the area, call 911.
