Many of the grants approved this quarter will focus on preserving local history, including a $10,000 grant to the Cascade Locks Park Association to protect and promote the industrial, commercial and cultural heritage of Cascade Locks Park. Visitors to the park and its Mustill Store Museum can explore Akron's industrial history through interpretive displays and exhibits depicting the city's canal era. |

Two recent funds established will improve local food culture
|
The Mobile Meals Endowment Fund, a permanently endowed fund, was established with nearly $2 million to ensure current and future residents in need will have access to its food services. In addition, the Countryside Conservancy Fund - In Memory of Darwin Kelsey will raise awareness about food and farming and help create a sustainable food culture.
