CHARLESTOWN, Indiana (July 20th, 2019) - The world of truck and tractor pulling lost one of its' greatest ambassadors and competitors today with the untimely and sudden passing of Larry Koester. His passing sends a wave of sadness and shock across the sport. Larry was a multi-time Mini-Rod points champion with the National Tractor Pullers Association driving his "Footloose" machine, and a larger-than-life figure who overcame enormous obstacles (
see his story here) to become a pulling champion. His passion for pulling and his resume were exceptional but among his greatest achievements was his inspiring support of the
Make-A-Wish Foundation during the National Tractor Pulling Championships, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to grant the wishes of children with debilitating illnesses.
Larry will be sorely missed.
We here at the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League extend our deepest condolences to his wife Coral "Caesar" Koester; daughter Ashley Corzine, her husband Craig and their children; and son Adam and his wife Jamilyn.
