COMMUNITY EVENTS

Read Across America Week is celebrated from March 2 to 6 — it begins on the birthday of the beloved author, Dr. Seuss. The entire month of March is dedicated to reading, which also coincides with the second anniversary of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library launch by United Way of Whitman County (UWCC). The organization began gifting books to Whitman County children. Now two years later, more than 13,000 books have been given to and enjoyed by 1,073 children county-wide.
