Dear Pullman Scholars and Alumni,

At a time when the value of a four-year degree is being questioned, compelling data shows a college education is still the most reliable path to economic mobility and generational wealth. Yet traditional financial aid is harder to obtain than ever and has not kept pace with soaring college costs (read more about this issue below). That reality underscores why this year - our 75th anniversary - marks such an important moment.

First, thanks to your support, we increased our current Pullmans Scholars class - our 76th - by 20%, empowering even more students to graduate on time with low or no debt. They are completing their first semester, and we are already inspired by the energy, talent and sense of community they bring to our shared legacy.

Second, we are humbled to share historic news: the Foundation has received a $10 million unrestricted gift from MacKenzie Scott. See our announcement here. This extraordinary act of generosity is not only a profound vote of confidence in our mission but also a commitment that future generations of Pullman Scholars will have even greater access to opportunity and success.

Thank you - as always - for being part of our vibrant and inspiring community. Your continued connection and support makes everything we do possible.

With deep appreciation and warm holiday wishes ahead,

 Pullman Spotlight

Our 75th Anniversary video series shines a light on the heart of the Pullman community: our Scholars, Alumni and supporters. Each short film celebrates a different fac et of our mission - impact, community and giving back - together telling the story of how one scholarship can change thousands of lives. We invite you to watch these inspiring videos, and hope you will share them with your own networks.

• 75 Years of Community.

• 75 Years of Giving Back.

 By the Numbers

Public confidence in higher education may be at a low point, but the financial evidence is clear: a bachelor’s degree remains the surest route to higher earnings, lower unemployment and long-term wealth. In fact, recent data shows college graduates earn nearly 70% more than high school graduates at the median, with unemployment rates less than half as high. Our recent blog explains why this matters now more than ever—and how scholarships like Pullman’s make all the difference. Read the full blog here.

 Future Headwinds

The future of higher education faces growing challenges. Rising tuition costs, declining purchasing power of federal grants, FAFSA disruptions and institutional funding cuts all threaten access to affordable college. At the same time, increased competition for limited aid makes the path forward more uncertain for many students. These five headwinds underscore why the Pullman model—providing both financial and wraparound support—is more critical than ever in ensuring students succeed. Your support helps us turn these challenges into opportunities for the next generation.

 Unlocking Student Success

“No strings attached” isn’t just a saying—it’s a principle that defines our scholarships and drives our mission at the Pullman Educational Foundation. By empowering students to pursue their own path and pairing that freedom with proactive supports like mentorship, monthly check-ins and mental health resources, Pullman Scholars achieve extraordinary outcomes: a 95% graduation rate, with 70% debt-free. This combination of independence and support fuels a lasting cycle of achievement, success and giving back that strengthens families, communities and the Pullman legacy. Read the full blog here.
