A Thanksgiving Message from the Headmaster

As we look toward Thanksgiving tomorrow, I wish to share with you the history of this day in its original form. Below is the link to the first Thanksgiving Proclamation issued by George Washington in 1789. As you enjoy a well-deserved break with your loved ones, I invite you to read his timeless proclamation below and reflect on the enduring blessings of peace and plenty we enjoy.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving,

Thanksgiving Proclamation By George Washington, First President of the United States of America

Angel Hennig

Headmaster

A Delicious History Lesson!

History came off the page and into the classroom this week! To wrap up our lesson on the First Thanksgiving, our Kindergarteners immersed themselves in the experience by dressing the part and breaking bread together.

Between the creative corn-weaving crafts and the shared meal, the students learned about the importance of community and gratitude. A special thank you to our families for contributing to our feast, it was the perfect way to celebrate our students' hard work!

Thanksgiving Break

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we want to remind all families that school will be closed from Wednesday, November 26th, through Friday, November 28th. Please enjoy this time with your loved ones! We look forward to welcoming all students back on Monday, December 1st. We are thankful for our wonderful students and families!

We are looking for anyone who can donate time and effort. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. You just need to know a student here. You can work for an hour or two or more. You can come in on a specific day or several days.

Here is a list of positions:

  • Front Desk/Admin Work
Answering the phone, filing, copying, helping with visitors and students
  • Lunch Supervision
Making sure kids are eating, behaving, and cleaning up (this gives teachers a much needed mid-day break)
  • Classroom Support
    Helping teachers as needed
  • Cleaning
    Staff areas, teacher's lounge, etc.
  • Drop Off
Help with students’ arrival (7:15 am to 8:00 am)
  • Pick Up
Help with students’ dismissal (3:00 pm-4:00 pm
  • After Care

This is truly a great way to stay connected to your student!
