All Saints' Day

All Saints' Day is this Sunday, November 1. If you have a friend or loved one who has passed and you would like to celebrate them on All Saints' Day, bring a photo of them. We will place them on the memorial table during Holy Communion on Sunday.

In Heartfelt Appreciation

On behalf of my family and myself, I want to express our heartfelt appreciation to the members of McFarland UCC. You responded so sympathetically and lovingly to us as we grieved the loss of Margaret, our Wife, Mother, Friend, Mentor, and Loving Presence. The outpouring of support in cards, personal conversations, and especially in helping bring her Celebration of Life to fruition was nothing short of wonderful. McFarland UCC is truly a loving, accepting, and supportive Community, and we are grateful to be a part of it.

PUMPKIN COMPOSTING DAY in Dane County

Free pumpkin composting across Dane County on Saturday, November 7, 2026

Bring pumpkins of any size, shape, or color.

No painted pumpkins, please.

Middleton Food Scrap Stop (University Pl. near the Walgreens) 10am-2pm

Fitchburg Food Scrap Stop (Swan Creek Park Pavilion) 10am-2pm

Verona Food Scrap Stop (Badger Prairie - 1220 E. Verona Ave) 10am-2pm

Stoughton Food Scrap Stop (Mandt Park - 400 Mandt Pkwy) 10am-2pm

Madison Westside Community Market (505 S Rosa Rd) 7am-12:30pm

**MCFARLAND residents can drop off pumpkins at the Municipal Center yard waste drop-off site anytime**

Why? Organic materials, including food and yard waste, make up 30% of the materials entering the Dane County Landfill. The pumpkins from this composting drive will be diverted from the landfill and turned into nutrient-rich compost and soil amendment by Purple Cow Organics. The U.S. Dept. of Ag. estimates that more than 1 billion pounds of pumpkins are discarded in U.S. landfills each year, where they contribute 83 million pounds of methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas, into the atmosphere.

During Worship

• Nov. 1 will be a Día de los Muertos celebration, and youth can bring items to church to celebrate a loved one who has passed. We'll be decorating sugar skulls during the service.
