Fostering Health & Wellness in the Pajaro Valley since 1998

Celebrating 28 Years in the Community!

A MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, DEANDRE' JAMES

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US AND A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO YOU!

For 28 years, the Community Health Trust of Pajaro Valley (CHT) has worked alongside our community to advance health equity and help ensure that everyone in the Pajaro Valley has the opportunity to lead a full, healthy life.

Since opening our doors in 1998, we’ve grown and evolved alongside the community we serve. As a provider, funder, and partner, we’ve expanded our programs, strengthened our partnerships, invested in local organizations and students, and found new ways to reach people across the Tri-County area.

Our mission remains steadfast: to foster a healthy and equitable community for all in the Pajaro Valley through advocacy, collaboration, and wellness.

And while so much has grown and changed over the past 28 years, that commitment has remained at the heart of our work.

I’m proud of how far we’ve come and even more excited for what’s ahead!

Evolving Our Care: Growing With Our Community

When the Community Health Trust first opened in 1998, our Diabetes Health Center was a trusted source of care in the community. Over the years, our work has expanded to include nutrition education, food access, and whole-person wellness—now taking shape in our upcoming Centro de Bienestar.

This expansion reflects something we’ve always believed: as our community’s needs evolve, our care must evolve with them. Today, our work is rooted in three pillars — Food, Wellness, and Care — with Nutrition Services continuing our long-standing support for diabetes management through Care. We’re also proud to lead the initiative to bring allcoveâ„¢ to Watsonville, a youth mental health drop-in center for ages 12–25.

Through it all, the people and heart behind our care remain the same. Our trusted team continues to provide the culturally relevant guidance, compassion, and understanding that our community has relied on for years.

Expanding Our Reach: Across the Region

While Centro de Bienestar will give our work a new, more central home in downtown Watsonville, our work has never been limited to a single location.

Our programs and partnerships extend throughout the region—from free health screenings and physical activity classes offered in local neighborhoods to fresh produce and nutrition support reaching communities across Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties.

By bringing prevention, wellness, and support into the places where people live, work, and gather, we’re making it easier for more people to access the tools and resources they need to thrive.

Our reach is growing, but the goal is simple: making health, food, wellness, and care more accessible to the people we serve.

Here’s to What’s Next!

Centro de Bienestar and allcove are taking shape in the heart of Watsonville, creating new opportunities for connection and support.

We’d love for you to be part of what's ahead!
