Helping Hands
Special volunteer workdays make a difference in park district natural areas

The St. Charles Park District is calling all volunteers to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty to help restore and maintain the natural areas that are dependent on hands large and small.While you can lend a hand any Saturday throughout the year, save the date special volunteer days coming up include:
- Seed Harvesting Oct. 5
at Otter Creek Bend Wetland Park
- Make a Difference Day Oct. 26
at Delnor Woods Park

If you're looking to improve your overall athletic ability, sports game or general health, Kale Training is the place to be. Whether you're hoping to improve speed, agility, flexibility, strength, power or all of the above, Kale Training owner Kale Hoyt can help you meet your sports performance goals. Hoyt, a certified strength and conditioning and performance enhancement specialist, works with individuals and teams at all levels starting at age 7, within 6,000 square feet of space inside Sportsplex, a St. Charles Park District facility.

Soccer Camp

Based on the U.S. Soccer National Youth Module, this program is designed to improve a player's ability to dribble and move or pass the soccer ball in a team environment. Bring gym shoes, soccer ball size 4, shin guards and a water bottle.

Learn both offensive and defensive moves in this fun and safe environment! Instructors will focus on the proper mechanics of running pass routes, receiving, line play; taking hand offs, throwing techniques and basic rules of game play. The importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship are highly emphasized. Contact is minimal, there will be no tackling. Bring a water bottle. Wear knee pads.

A morning full bowling, karaoke, billiards and arcade gaming at Round1 Bowling and Amusement in Bloomingdale. Lunch will be provided. Participants may walk around the Stratford Mall afterwards. The afternoon will be spent exploring and gaming at the STCU. Drop-off at PCC & pick up at the teen center.
