Fortunately, the nor'easter this weekend was not as damaging on the farm as predicted! Friday, the crew prepped for the storm by protecting seedlings in the hardening-off area, closing high tunnels, and harvesting as many ripe tomatoes as possible. The farm received 5+ inches of rain, with strong wind impacting taller crops, like sunflowers. The crew has paused tomato harvesting to allow plants time to dry, and will resume tractor work once field conditions improve. |
