Fresh Picks
Holy Cow Flower Farm
It's the final weekend of the year for Holy Cow Farm flowers! This Saturday will be your last chance to stock up on farm fresh blooms for your home, as the flower fields begin to go dormant for the winter. Farmers Jenn and Bryan worked hard last week during the cold snap to keep everything alive, and it paid off because this past week of warm weather has promoted lots of blooming. That means they'll have lots of beautiful flowers to bring to market, including everyone's favorites: dahlias! It's been such a wonderful farmers' market season, and Bryan and Jenn would like to truly thank all of you wonderful shoppers. Your support week after week means the world to them and their fellow farmers. Be sure to stop by the flower tent for one last chat and a beautiful bouquet!
Cabbage Throw Farm
Cabbage Throw Farm is tossing around a whole lot of winter squash in the spirit of the holiday! Spaghetti, winter sweet, acorn and autumn frost varieties are ready for soups, stews, roasts, or pies! Other fall favorites this week are arugula, rutabaga, Napa cabbage, specialty daikon & watermelon radishes and fresh bunched carrots.

Other vegetables coming to market include rainbow chard, collards, kale, fennel, broccolini, purple & hakurei turnips, red radish, farmers' mix, beets, kohlrabi, garlic, onions and Comeback Farm's organic potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Primordia Mushroom Farm
Hey mushroom lovers, Creminis will be on the low side this week but ALL the other varieties are really producing! Holy crow! Get yourself ready for some serious mushroom meals. Oyster mushroom, and black pearl are particularly plentiful this week! Try this recipe for SPINACH & MUSHROOM BOWTIE PASTA.
Scholl Orchards
Try Something NEW - a Butterkin!
New apple varieties arriving this week are Granny Smith (great for dipping in hot caramel) and Sweet Zinger. That brings the current apple selection to fourteen! Lots of freshly pressed cider too - be sure to pick some up for your Halloween festivities.

This week's brassicas are beautiful! Ever try Romanesco? This exquisitely shaped brassica (a cousin of cauliflower) is chartreuse in color and was first documented in Italy in the 16th century. It looks like something straight out of a Dr. Seuss book and definitely shines on a veggie platter! You'll also find traditional broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and Brussels Spouts.

Winter Squash Season is in full swing and there are so many to choose from... red kuri, delicata, butternut, honey nut, acorn, carnival, kobocha, spaghetti and butterkin. What is Butterkin you ask? It’s a hybrid between a butternut squash and a pumpkin, and it looks the part. The fruits have the smooth, light orange skin of a butternut and the round, ridged shape of a pumpkin. Inside, the flesh is the best of both worlds – deep orange, smooth, and extremely sweet!
Salvaterra's Gardens
Spinach is one of those vegetables that just has a never ending list of uses. Smoothies, salads, soups and more. Spinach squares are a classic finger food appetizer that for some reason, only make their appearance at parties. These little squares are so easy and tasty, I really do wonder why I don't make them more often as a snack or side dish! This take on spinach squares is called "spinach brownies" and it's delicious. Here's this week's complete line-up... Spinach, broccoli raab, dandelion greens, romaine, lettuce mix, spicy mesclun mix, arugula, red leaf head lettuce, green leaf head lettuce, collards, chard, pak choy, kale, beets, radishes, scallions, red onions, carrots, butternut squash, celery, fennel, parsley, dill, cilantro, broccoli, cabbage, bell peppers, eggplant, jalapeños and poblanos.

A Special Strudel for your Pup!
This Saturday we are celebrating the pooches and Mattie's made a very special fido-friendly strudel - free with any strudel purchase!
Mattie's took beef, rice, carrots, and a splash of beef gravy, and wrapped them in their homemade dough. They'll be offered in one inch, bite-size pieces and are topped with a heart-shaped doggie treat! No need to bake them either. They are ready for your puppy dog pal to enjoy on the spot! Make sure to stop by with the kiddos for some Halloween treats, too!

And there will be two yummy scones to choose from: chocolate-pumpkin and lemon lavender blueberry!
Portch Tea
Portch Tea's kombucha outshines all the other booch out there for one simple reason... Don and his family grow all the ingredients that go into it! Oh, and it's filled with so much love, I guess that's two reasons. Anyway, this week's Booch of the Day is “I’ll Get You, My Pretty," a lovely combo of lavender, mint, lemon balm and blueberry.
Breakaway Farms
Thanksgiving is just 4 weeks away! If you haven't already done so, place your order for a Breakaway Farms pasture-raised turkey. Choose a whole turkey or turkey breast.
Spooky Burgers & Sausage!

Leave it to Breakaway to create the perfect treats for your Halloween Bashes! (Don't let the black color scare you, it's just activated charcoal.)
Choose from "Black" Sweet Italian sausage with local roasted orange bell peppers or Spooky Burgers - “Black” grass fed beef and pasture-raised pork bacon combined with orange cheddar cheese! Simply seasoned with salt & pepper, these are ready for your grill… or cauldron!
Teels Hill Soapworks
What goes great with pumpkins? Spices! My Orange Spice soap is mistaken for pumpkin scent but it is sweet orange, ginger, cinnamon and clove essential oils. A perfect soap at your kitchen sink this Fall. Don't like oranges but love spice? Try one of my other spice soaps scents, like Cinnabar, Working Hands or Ginger Snap.
