Xanadu Pup Alert:
Baby Valentine Puppies!
February 16th, 2019
Ready to Go to New Homes mid-Spring /
Second Week of April
NEWBORN PHOTOS of PUPS IN A PILE ARE SHOWN FIRST (SEE ATTACHED). Several Good Photos of Pups follow, so you can see these newborns and the remarkable color variety from the parents' forbears. Individual photos of all 12 will be featured in later Alerts.
ALSO, See Attached Photos of proud parent-dogs, *Chanda and *Ashoka below.
As previously noted, XANADU of the Rockies reduced the number of breeding dogs and litters for 2019. Many great potential dams & sires have retired early, as well as dogs that have had only one litter of pups. What's left? Less genetic duplication. Perfection. Although we will have fewer litters in the future, those XANADU litters are expected to be the most perfect litters we've ever had.
Prices for XANADU Goberians (See Link to "XANADU Breeding Goals") will NOT go up in 2019. Pup pricing follows. Chanda's dozen pups by blue-eyed, multi- colored Ashoka include 7 males and 5 females in A L L C o l o r s , and yes, we do expect blue eyes and hope for some brown and Bi- colored eyes, too.
Selection of Pet Home Puppies is determined by the date your deposit is submitted. Those who make an early deposit choose their pup first; your place in line is confirmed by your deposit -- $600. Mandi, XANADU'S Spreadsheet-Keeper and my Right-Hand Woman at xanadupack@gmail.com can advise you through the very easy PayPal-deposit process. Pup Selection will take place when puppies are 6-weeks old (March 26-31), because eye-color will be more stable at that time. Often, a pup's eye color can be determined much earlier, but sometimes there are unexpected color changes after 6 weeks (we'll always let you know eye color expectations at 6 weeks and after).
To date, although pups are NOT being held for any new owners, a male Guardian (future XANADU breeding dog) has been requested by a current XANADU Goberian Guardian who is absolutely in love with the breed. Another male pup is expected to go to Singapore. XANADU has an outstanding selection of pups. We EVEN have MERLES in this litter, and there is a merle included in our 6 Puppy Photos. And so often, these unusual and absolutely beautiful pups are extremely popular and often selected first. The merle gene is through Ashoka. Because we do not (usually) breed for merles, however beautifully marked, XANADU merles are the same price as our other pups.
2019 PRICING  will be as follows for XANADU GOBERIAN puppies:
Guardian Pups, $1250
Litter Pick Male and Female, $2885 ( any eye color you prefer )
Blue-eyed  &  bi - eyed  pups: $2650
Brown-eyed   pups: $2250
Hazel-eyed  pups are usually the same price as the  brown-eyed   puppies.  Green eyes   usually turn  hazel. The price for pups with  clear bright green eyes   would have to be negotiated--and these pups are rare.
Remember that  brown eyes   are usually dominant, and a  brown-eyed  puppy is just as sweet and smart and healthy as a pup with bright  blue eyes . Vanity options do cost more.

BOTH Chanda and Ashoka have Cleopatra eye-liner eyes; most, if not all, pups probably will have Cleopatra eyes also.
Please note that there are no other XANADU Goberian Litters coming at this time; that means no new litters until at least late June or July of 2019.
Chanda is a Guardian who was selected exclusively for her remarkable people-centered, gentle personality. She has never met a stranger, human or dog. She is low-shed, and she and her lineage provides great therapy/service candidate pups. Chanda carries her mom's (brown) tri-color markings (*see Cafe' Ole's photo attached, light green /hazel-eyed female; next is Granddaddy *Elvis Jr. and Greatgrandsire, *Elvis King at 17 ) . Daughter-Chanda has a light blue splash in one of her golden -brown eyes; that is, she carries blue eyes .
Daddy-dog, Ashoka, is a perfect blue-eyed multi-color (silver, tan, white, merle flecks, and blue eyes), and is also one of our two most beautiful stud dogs. Ashoka's mom is a gorgeous tri-color AKC Siberian Husky (*Feather, Photo Attached of Ashoka's dam *Feather) with two blue eyes. His dad was blue-eyed and with more merle flecks in his coat. Ashoka has a lovely, bouncy, happy temperament--loves EVERYONE--and is a healthy, sturdy boy, as was his lineage; that is, no known genetic problems. Ashoka is about 45 lb., and is the only XANADU Breeding Dog in Feather & Bleu's lineage.

Chanda is not a big shedder (Goberians are seasonal shedders and need to be groomed in the spring to remove the winter undercoat. The rest of the year, Goberian grooming needs are minimal.) Her body-type takes after the Golden Retriever more than the Siberian Husky. I think you'll find that the match of these two lineages is pretty perfect.

Chanda was tested by Cornell University's (rather new) Embark Genetic Program for dogs. Of the 165 common-dog genetic issues, Chanda's results are perfect: Her results are "clear," "normal," and "not a carrier" of these 165 testable issues. Cornell University does not yet have tests for other possible problems that mortals face, but XANADU of the Rockies provides the best pups possible, and your pup is absolutely guaranteed against these testable genetic issues. Please note that our first priority is always temperament (see "XANADU Breeding Goals" link).

Your new XANADU pup is a family member. XANADU breeds for longevity (Chanda's Grandfather, Elvis Sr. lived until he was 17, ran and swam miles a day and was never sick a day in his life. This is most unusual for the Golden Retriever lineage [see Photo of *Elvis Sr. and his son, Elvis Jr.]). For this breed and this lineage, you might, with good care, you could expect between 15 and 19 years of healthy companionship from your new best friend.
