Pure Religion

Join us tomorrow as we continue our study of the book of James and explore the question of what is 'pure religion.'

Compassion Network is providing an opportunity to take a refugee family shopping and connect with them. The main goal is to provide immediate assistance for basic household necessities and clothing for children while also providing a relational connection with a volunteer(s) who can find additional ways to support the family relationally. Here is the commitment we are asking for in a volunteer host (a host can be an individual, couple, family, or group):

• Attend training at Compassion Network to become more culturally adept and understand the expectations of the commitment. 
• Provide transportation for shopping.
• Commit to connecting with the family by phone, text, or email once a week for 10 weeks to provide relational support.

Collin and Janel have pledged to become foster parents to children in crisis. You still have a chance to become a part of the support system they will desperately need in the upcoming months. Pray this week for ...

• How do we begin to pray for what happened this week?
• Pray for all of the families in Uvalde, Texas this week who lost their sons and daughters.
• Pray for the students, teachers, other employees and volunteers at the school who are now dealing with this nightmare.
• Pray for the families of the 10 black people in a supermarket in Buffalo who were killed this month
• Pray for all of the loved ones that have lost a family member in one of the other 211 mass shootings in our country this year.
• pray for everyone who became a first responder to one of these events
• Pray for the churches across our country that have been set on fire this year.
• Pray for God to be with everyone involved in one of these instances.  Let His love and care help to get them through the upcoming days and years. 
• Let people who do not know our Lord find Him

• Pray that we are able to slow Covid down again.

• Pray for our Pathway families that are planning their vacations for this summer. Let's pray for a time of relaxation, refreshment and enjoying the time with their loved ones.

• Pray that God will help each of us know which gift he has given to us that can be shared with the church.  

• Pray for our teachers, students and parents who are preparing for school to end and for the summer break to begin. Pray for the families that need care for their children during this time. Pray they are able to find just the right situation for their kids.

• Pray for a Pathway person or family you have not seen at church recently and let them know that you miss them.

• Remember to pray for the many Afghanistan and Ukraine people who are hoping to find a new home.  Pray for everyone providing assistance of some type to them.

• Pray for our Pathway families that ...
• have had surgery and are working to gain strength
• have lost loved ones
• who are caring for family members
• are struggling to find hope, who are lonely and trying to "get back to the new normal".

• Pray for our nation and all that is going on right now: battling Covid, the increasing violence and hostility that is taking place, for the upcoming elections, etc.

• Pray for countries in our world today that have great needs and do not have the resources available. This summer is a great time to pick a different country each week to pray for.

• Pray for our Pathway Leaders as we move into this summer time and work to continue reaching out to our neighbors. If you have a suggestion about and outreach event please let us know. 

• And thank our Lord for his faithfulness and never-ending love.
