Virtual Open House Night - Tuesday, October 20th
We are excited to invite you to our Virtual Open House Night on Tuesday, October, 20th from 6:00-8:00pm. Parents will have an opportunity to follow their student’s schedule and enter Zoom meetings with all of their student’s teachers. Teachers will share information about their courses, ways they are engaging students virtually, and be available to answer questions. Support staff, including Counselors, Psychologists, and Social Workers will also be available for check-ins. Tech support sessions for adults who wish to gain more skills that will help to support their students at home will also be available. Mark your calendars - more details to come!
Progress Grades and Grading Shift Information
Four-week progress grades have been posted in Infinite Campus. We know these grades may present an incomplete picture of content learned to this point. In order to continue ensuring that grades accurately reflect student learning at all points, we are adjusting four-week progress grades for this term only, as follows:
  • All grades which are currently calculating at 59.5% or higher receive a "CP' for "Continuing Progress."
  • All grades which are currently calculating at lower than 59.5% will receive an "I" for "incomplete." Please note teacher comments and don't hesitate to reach out to teachers for additional information.

This is a one-time adjustment. Letter grades will resume with our nine-week progress grades, and they will continue through the year. As a reminder, here is a full copy of MMSD's Equitable Grading Shifts 20-21. Don't hesitate to reach out for any supports you need as we work together for the best possible outcomes for our students.

Students can also watch this short video that was shown in 2nd hour classes on October 8th about how to understand the grading shifts for this year and how to understand the new symbols ("CP" and "I") on 4-week progress reports.

The FAFSA Application Is Open
All seniors, regardless of your family's income, should complete this application, which will qualify you for grants, loans, scholarships and work-study. Many colleges require the FAFSA to be filled out in order to provide financial assistance or awards to students. The application is now open and should be completed as soon as possible. You'll need to register for an FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA. Learn more here or talk to your school counselor. Get personalized help with your FAFSA Application by attending any of these Virtual College Goal Wisconsin FAFSA Completion Events.
