East Student Receives Scholar Athlete Award
Take a look at this short video and article featuring East student, Pedro Martinez, Spectrum News Athlete of The Week award winner. Watch as School Counselor, Sarah Elmore, Bilingual Resource Specialist, Silvia Gomez, Spanish Teacher, Barbara Davis, and East Head Football Coach, Jeremy Thornton, explain why Pedro is such an inspiration. Pedro's work ethic, passion for athletics, positive attitude in taking on new challenges, and compassion for others earned him this distinction including a $1000 scholarship. Congrats, Pedro!

Youth Apprenticeship Program
We invite you to learn more about MMSD’s Youth Apprenticeship program by checking out these interactive slides (if it prompts you to sign in, have your student sign in with their MMSD account). 

Youth Apprenticeship is a rigorous one- or two-year elective program for juniors & seniors, that combines academic and technical classroom instruction with mentored, on-the-job training, to provide students with industry-established occupational and employability skills.
