The East High School Community enjoyed a generous donation of spice kits from Penzeys this week. Staff and students alike were thrilled to try some familiar and some new spices at home. The Potato of Love seasoning seemed like just the thing to spread some purgolder pride! Pictured is the northwoods seasoning used on wings, and avocado blts with sandwich seasoning.
School Nurse Appreciation
In honor of National School Nurse Day on Wednesday May 10th, we recognize the important work of the health office staff at East High School. The Nurse and Nursing Assistant work together to provide compassionate care, education and leadership for students, staff and the community. We appreciate all they do to ensure that all students are healthy, safe and ready to learn. Thank you Erin, Amy, and Maria!

East Senior Participates In Wisconsin State Senate Scholar Program
In March of 2023 East Senior, Charlie Johnson, participated in the Wisconsin State Senate Scholar Program, a highly competitive and intensive educational program sponsored by the Wisconsin State Senate that allows only one high school student from each state district to spend a week in the Wisconsin State Capitol to learn about the functions of state government, meet political figures, and participate in state government. Applicants must write several essays, take a civics test, and receive a letter of sponsorship from Senator Agard. He received hands-on experience with policy development, constituent relations, and drafting and processing legislation. "One of the days, I met with our state district senator, Melissa Agard, and on another day, had brunch with Governor Evers at his executive residence. I also received a personal citation from the Wisconsin State Senate for completing the program. I'm proud of having the opportunity to participate in the program and represent East High and MMSD," Charlie said.
