Please Bring Cash to Donate
Older teens will "kidnap" the Megillah scroll, which will be held ransom to raise money for the USY tzedakah, Tikun Olam .

Our USY teen leaders have decided funds raised this year will be allocated in memory of Hannah Weiss . Hannah was an activist who worked to repair our broken world. She cared passionately about environmentalism, gender equality, and expanding access to affordable, healthy food.
Food Donations
Donations accepted in the Mitzvah Cabinet until Purim
Please bring a box of m acaroni and cheese to be used as graggers (noisemakers) during the service. Boxes will be donated to the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry in fulfillment of the Purim mitzvah of matanot l'evyonim (giving gifts to the poor).
Volunteer for the Purim Carnival
Sunday, March 4
Carnival for Children and Families
Sunday, March 4, 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Teens in 7th grade  are invited to volunteer as assistants at the first carnival. Our 7th graders can volunteer for one shift or both, depending on if they want to enjoy the carnival themselves.

Teens in 6th grade  are invited to volunteer to help in ONE of the following ways:
  • assist Robin Wald with Mitzvah Manicures (email to sign up) OR
  • sign up for ONE SHIFT of volunteering as a Purim Pal. Purim Pals will help by serving as buddies for anyone who needs a buddy to enhance their experience of the carnival.
Please only sign up for one shift; we want 6th graders to also enjoy the carnival as participants themselves for at least half the time.
All slots are first come, first served , so sign up ASAP. (If you would like to be working with a friend, make sure your friend also signs up!)

Community service credit will be awarded.
Parents, We Need Your Help!
Sponsor a Carnival Booth
To ensure the success of both carnivals, we need your help! Please  sponsor a booth . Your sponsorship helps keep our Youth Program vibrant. Thank you!

Proceeds from this carnival:
  • Help fund the Bet Torah Youth Program
  • Provide program discounts
  • Fund our carnival for friends from WJCS Havorah, immediately following the carnival for our families and children. Adults with developmental disabilities enjoy this free Purim celebration, part of Bet Torah’s commitment to building a better world.
Please return  this sponsorship form  to Youth mailbox in the office  by Purim evening, Wednesday, February 28 , with your check to “Bet Torah Youth.”
Sunday, March 4
We need adults to help set up in the morning before the carnival, help prepare the food, sell the food, sell tickets, and distribute prizes, and give out food at the carnival for guests from WJCS' Havorah.
We also need help getting local business to donate items for use as raffle prizes; if you have connections with any small businesses, please email Loen Amer .
METNY Kadima Kinnus
for 5th, 6th, and 7th graders
Friday, March 2, 3:00 p.m. -
Saturday, March 3, 10:00 p.m.

at Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation, Long Island
(bus from Westchester Country provided,
from Bet Torah  if 10 or more tweens sign up )
Our 5th-7th graders are invited to join peers from all over New York for a Shabbat overnight that balances a loving, nurturing environment with the freedom tweens crave, all in the context of joyous Jewish life. Please  click here to read FAQ about Kadima Kinnus .

In addition to all the social and communal benefits, enjoying Shabbat with Kadima is an opportunity Bet Torah tweens to earn two of the synagogue attendance credits they need before b'nei mitzvah.
We know that this is the Shabbat right before our Purim Carnival and a busy weekend for families. We wanted to make sure you were invited to this program even though it is a less than ideal weekend for Bet Torah. Please  email Loen  if you have questions.
Regular registration ends Tuesday, February 20.
USY On Wheels
for 7th-11th graders
USY on Wheels, East   and  USY on Wheels, West  are both wonderful 28-day teen travel opportunities, just for Jewish teens currently in 7th and 8th grade!

On USY on Wheels, East, teens travel from the CNN Tower in Toronto to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando and all points in between. USY on Wheels, West, is a cruise down the sunny Pacific Coast Highway, stopping along the way to relax on the beaches of California, hike the natural beauty of the Southwest’s national parks, and journey from the dizzying heights of Colorado to the flat salt plains of Utah.
At Bet Torah, we support our teens' participation in USY Summer Experiences through the generosity of the Christopher B. Gordon Memorial Fund .
