As Black History Month comes to a close, YWCA Delaware reflects on a powerful truth: Black history is America’s history — and it is living history. The courage, leadership, and resilience we honor this month continue to shape our communities and guide our work every day. In this issue, you'll see how we're strengthening survivor safety, welcoming new leaders, and creating opportunities for our community to stay informed and involved. | | |
YWCA Delaware Receives Ring Cameras to Support Survivors
YWCA Delaware is proud to be part of a community safety initiative alongside Attorney General Kathy Jennings, the Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Ring to help protect survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Through this partnership, YWCA Delaware has received Ring X Line devices with lifetime protection plans. These cameras help survivors recognize potential danger and activate personalized safety plans with support from trained advocates.
The need for these tools is urgent. According to the 2025 Fatal Incident Review Team Annual Report, Delaware experienced 25 domestic violence-related deaths in 2024, including 16 homicides, most of which occurred in the victim’s home.
Research shows that 1 in 3 women stalked by an intimate partner are also sexually assaulted by that partner.
Technology like this, combined with advocacy, court accompaniment, and survivor-centered support, helps increase safety and reduce harm.
If you or someone you know needs help, YWCA Delaware’s 24/7 free and confidential SARC helpline is available at 800-773-8570.

Help Build Resilience: YWCA Delaware Collection Drive
YWCA Delaware has launched the Resilience Fund to ensure essential programs, including safe housing, survivor services, and economic empowerment, remain strong even during times of funding uncertainty. When survivors reach out, we want to be ready. Help us reach our goal of building 500 Survivor Care Kits during our Resilience Fund kickoff on April 27, 2026.
Register and select one travel-size item for your group to collect. Together we’ll assemble care kits that provide comfort and practical support when it's needed most.
After registering, YWCA Delaware’s staff will coordinate next steps and schedule a convenient pickup or drop-off.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent State of the Vote panel discussion on Voting Rights in Delaware.

• SS1 for SB3: Authorizing in-person early voting
• HB 88: Modernizing voter registration, including same-day registration
To contact your Delaware State Senator and State representative and urge them to support expanded voting access, visit https://gis.elections.delaware.gov. Use the “District Lookup Tool” to find your Representatives by address. Guest Panelists:
