Dear Arianna,

This week, we saw further proof that the Biden administration is walking back on its promises to create a humane immigration system and instead embracing the Trump-era policies it once so fervently claimed to oppose.

As we ramp up our efforts to push back against these cruel policies and push forth a vision of an immigration system that is based on values of compassion and respect for everyone’s rights, we are thankful to have dedicated supporters like you by our side.

This month, we are thrilled to welcome Rachel Davidson to the National Immigration Project team!

Rachel is the co-founder and director of the End SIJS Backlog Coalition, which will now be housed at the National Immigration Project. For years, the End SIJS Backlog Coalition has been pushing the Administration and Congress to change SIJS policy and the law to fix a major disconnect between the SIJS program and the green card visa allocation system that has left tens of thousands of immigrant youth in legal limbo, vulnerable to deportation and other harms. This work is done alongside impacted youth and over 70 allied organizations. Please join us in welcoming this exciting addition to our team!
