Puster Elementary Principal Message
November 29, 2018
The holiday season is special time of year in LISD. I hope you get to take advantage of our Fine Arts Festival this weekend at LHS. If you have had trouble getting into the holiday spirit, this is a great opportunity to get a jump start. Every elementary student in the district will have a piece of art on display and all of our performing arts groups (choir, band, orchestra, etc.) will be performing throughout the day. Our very own Puster Pride Choir will start everything off Saturday morning at 10:00 in the main gym. A complete list of events can be found below.

Many of you have asked if we had any ideas to help out less fortunate families during the holiday season. We have two opportunities to extend a generous hand we would like to offer if you are interested. The Heckman family, who have children at PES and SCIS are collecting items to send to troops who cannot be home for the holidays. More information can be found below. Our PTA has partnered us with another school in East McKinney. Burks Elementary has five families who are especially in need of items for Christmas. If you would like to “adopt” a family or a child in the family, you may access their wishes by clicking here.

Every Christmas season, my family enjoys the tradition of a holiday play or concert. Last year we were able to experience the “Gift of Christmas” at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano which we will do again this year. Please accept my wishes for your family to create memories you will always have this holiday season.

Save Your Boxtops
Welcome back to school! Don't forget to save those box tops when you are back to school shopping. There is a new box top collection container in the school lobby that you can drop your box tops in. You can bring them with you to meet the teacher or when school starts again, just remember to put your teachers name on the bag or envelope so your class will get the credit for them for the fall contest. You can turn in all of your box tops in this container. You do not need to take them to your classroom any more (just don't forget to write your class on it). In November we get to see which grade brings in the most box tops and which class gets the box top trophy for bringing in the most!! Thank you for always keeping an eye out for box tops to earn money for our school.

Tutoring 101
Lovejoy ISD is pleased to welcome Tutoring 101 to the Circle of Partners . Tutoring 101 and Lovejoy ISD have formed a revenue generating/sharing partnership to bring their services to Lovejoy families. Please see below for several offerings.

Private tutoring is available for students in grades K-12 in all subjects. Tutoring 101 recommends once a week tutoring for an hour to increase grades and learn subject matter more deeply. A once a week appointment usually results in an increase of one letter grade or more. Turn those C's into B's.

What is your SAT/ACT score? Want a better one? What do you need it to be?
Invest in a PSAT/SAT/ACT Prep program not just a class. Tutoring 101 helps high scorers get top scores, average students raise their scores and poor test takers achieve the scores colleges want. Tutoring 101 students have earned admissions and scholarships, and have saved thousands of tuition dollars every year.
  • Specialize in working with individual students and their specific needs
  • Day-of-test strategies
