Tyrone Kalu, QCC ’21, found his talent for mechanical engineering by creating a device that prevents autistic children from wandering off. At QCC, he served as administrative vice president in student government and found the courage to ask questions that many of his peers lacked. He hopes to creatively solve big problems in engineering.
Tyrone’s advice: “Make friends! It's very difficult achieving something great alone, and my friends have been a second resource after the professor. Your weaknesses are your friends’ strengths.”
Employers hire people they like and want to work with. As you’re doing interview prep, make sure you are practicing talking points and potential responses with a positive spin, a friendly tone and a smile on your face.
