North State Together has been busy grant writing for the Phase 1 application due May 2, 2022. If awarded, the funding will build off our existing regional cradle to career model and scale to 5 new counties in the North State.

The Remote North State Together K16 Collaborative, a cross-sector group of partners representing education, business, community organizations, and local government, strives to improve the economic and personal lives of community members that live and work in the remote North. Together, we are building inclusive, supportive pathways that are responsive to local needs and retain the talent in our region by sharing resources, centering equitable strategies, promoting sustainability, and building lasting partnerships across sectors and geography.

The CCI shows how well local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools are preparing high school students for success after graduation, whether in postsecondary education or in a career. For this reason, the CCI consists of both college- and career-readiness measures. This measure is based on the number of high school graduates who are prepared for college or a career.

California State University (CSU) - Chico, anchor of Rural Schools Collaborative's (RSC) Northern California Hub in partnership with North State Together, has a well-established and exceptional model of a Rural Teacher Corps program called CLASS. The Computational Literacy Across Secondary Settings (CLASS) Program is an accelerated, supportive master's degree pathway with a full-time, yearlong teacher residency.

In response to declining enrollment and other issues facing rural youth, school leaders in Shasta, Tehama, Siskiyou, Modoc and Trinity counties, with help from the McConnell Foundation, launched an organization called North State Together, which brings together schools, local businesses, families, tribal groups and others to strengthen local schools and improve outcomes for students.....
