2024-25 Goals Presentation

Thank you to the administrative team for their thoughtful work and presentation at Tuesday evening’s Board of Education meeting. The update on our district’s Facilities, Integrated Co-Teach (ICT), and Curriculum Writing reflected the depth of collaboration and strategic thinking taking place across the District to meet students' needs. You can watch the presentation here.

Community Facilities Committee Update

As previously shared, the Community Facilities Committee has formed three subcommittees, each focused on a specific area of district improvement: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), Fields and Lights, and the BRS Playground. At the May 29th Community Facilities meeting, each subcommittee provided an update on their progress:

  • The STEAM Subcommittee has completed a comprehensive tour of the high school and is scheduled to tour the middle and elementary schools next week as part of their needs assessment process.
  • The Fields and Lights Subcommittee has met multiple times and is currently exploring a range of lighting options, as well as the potential development of Parkway Field.
  • The BRS Playground Subcommittee will be collaborating with BRS staff and administrators to develop a thoughtful plan for improvements that support student play and safety.

These efforts represent the committee’s commitment to long-term planning and community collaboration. More updates will be shared as this work continues.

During the Superintendent’s Update portion of the meeting, I shared the following points of Pville Pride:

Community Events this Weekend

On Sunday morning, Pleasantville will come together for the 7th annual Break the Hold "Walk into the Light." This event is more than just a walk—it’s a moment of reflection, of support, and of hope. We walk for those we’ve lost too soon, for those who are struggling, and to help break the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide prevention. The strength and compassion of the Pleasantville community are on full display at this event every year.  Later that same day, we’ll also celebrate Pleasantville Pride—a joyful, affirming event that brings people of all ages together to celebrate inclusivity, love, and acceptance.

As always, it’s heartening to see how our school and community come together — to support and celebrate each other.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

For the youth,

Dr. DeSa
