The Frankford Creek was a natural resource for the Lenni-Lenape, and a source of power for the industrious village of Frankford in what is now Northeast Philadelphia. Over the past several centuries, the creek has been heavily manipulated — dammed, channelized, even realigned to meet the Delaware River over a mile away from its original mouth.
Join us and our partners for a guided bus tour (some walking required) exploring the history of this urban creek. Learn how partners are working together to revitalize this often overlooked green space through efforts such as the Philadelphia Water Department’s Green City Clean Waters and the development of the Frankford Creek Greenway.
