Dear Friend: We've had a busy fall so far, from Tabor Road in Philadelphia to Church Road in Cheltenham! Check out the Bulletin Board below for recaps of our Bilingual Birdwalk series...Community Cans project....improvements to the Tabor Road gateway to Tacony Creek Park...and our Tree art project... which was even highlighted on 6ABC! We've completed our exciting project with Cheltenham Township to remove 225 linear feet of concrete that a Jenkintown Creek tributary has called home since the 1970's, transforming it into a meandering wetland that will manage 42 acres of polluted runoff to improve water quality and create habitat. Thank you to funders Montgomery County Planning Commission and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and to WHYY for featuring this project!  We held our first public meeting for the Tookany Creek Trail feasibility study , in collaboration (again) with Cheltenham and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. We welcomed an enthusiastic group of citizens ready to share their ideas for a new trail that would be part of the regional Circuit . Watch for a trail page on our website with information and a survey so you can share your input! You must be saying to yourself: how does TTF do all of this work? Nature's Hidden Surprises: What is Weather & Climate?

Join us for a FREE walk to learn about weather using books, cloud charts and a wind scale! Lawn to Meadow Workshop

Learn the benefits of converting part of your grass into a meadow to beautify your property, attract pollinators, and make local creeks cleaner. Presenters will discuss native plant meadow techniques and challenges. Find out which attractive wildflowers and native grasses can thrive on your property to attract birds and butterflies! Trails Through Time: Discovering Frankford Creek

The Frankford Creek was a natural resource for the Lenni-Lenape, and a source of power for the industrious village of Frankford in what is now Northeast Philadelphia. Over the past several centuries, the creek has been heavily manipulated — dammed, channelized, even realigned to meet the Delaware River over a mile away from its original mouth. Join us and our partners for a guided bus tour (some walking required) exploring the history of this urban creek. Learn how partners are working together to revitalize this often overlooked green space through efforts such as the Philadelphia Water Department’s Green City Clean Waters and the development of the Frankford Creek Greenway. WHEN: Saturday, November 16 from 10 am to 1:30 pm WHERE: Meet at I Street & Ramona Avenue gateway to Tacony Creek Park, Philadelphia 19124 RSVP here. Tickets are $20 and lunch is included.
